In an ADL assessment, an OT will visit your home to conduct a series of evaluations and provide recommendations.
Since an ADL assessment is meant to evaluate how well you're managing daily tasks after an injury or illness, the process involves a home visit by a professional occupational therapist (OT) to:
- assess your capacity;
- understand your challenges;
- suggest helpful tools or modifications that would aid in your recovery process; and
- formulate a plan to help you recover from injury and regain your independence.
The areas of your life to be evaluated include personal care, household chores, and daily activities.
