How much will it cost for me to open a claim?

You might need to pay out of pocket in the beginning, but once the claim is approved, it should not cost you anything.

When you first lodge your workers comp claim, you will need to see a GP to obtain a Certificate of Capacity (COC). The COC is required for your claim lodgement, and the GP consultation requires upfront payment.

Once the claim is approved by the insurer, you can expect to:

  • Get reimbursed for the GP consultation; and
  • Attend workplace rehabilitation sessions without needing to pay.
