Your weekly payments will be calculated using your PIAWE, and issued by either your insurer or employer.
If you have sustained a workplace injury that results in your inability to perform pre-injury duties, you may be eligible for weekly payments based on a percentage of your pre-injury average weekly earnings (PIAWE). These payments are intended to compensate for your reduced ability to work due to the injury.
A worker's PIAWE is usually calculated by the insurer using a formula. Alternatively, the worker and their employer can agree upon a PIAWE amount.
The insurer should inform you of the amount to be received in your weekly payments. You may receive it from either your employer or the insurer.
